Ark In The Park (3-5 year olds)

Ark In The Park is the class for our Pre-K and Kindergarteners. Ark in the Park meets for Sunday Worship from 10:00am to 11:00am each Sunday morning. During the Sunday School time our preschoolers are encouraged to move around and explore as they discover God's presence in their world by learning and growing in Christ. This class is taught by a group of dedicated volunteers that rotate on a weekly schedule.

Faith Factory (K - 5th grade)

The Faith Factory is our class for children from 1st to 5th grade. Here our children learn about faith, growing in love with God, and what it means to reach out to others in love. Children meet in the Faith Factory for Mission Time, Prayer Time, Worship, Crafts, and Small Groups from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Parents are encouraged to register their children in the Faith Factory before 10:00am so that they can enjoy all aspects of Children's Ministry Programming.

Nursery (Birth through 3 years Old)

Our nursery is available for children 6 weeks through 3 years of age. Trained Staff attend children with loving care during Worship services, Sunday School, and Wednesday night activities.

All children are signed in through Planning Center Check-In. This helps provide safety and security should there be a need to reach parents while their child is in our care.

Safe Sanctuaries

Safe Sanctuaries is the name commonly given by United Methodist Annual Conferences and local churches to their individual efforts to make conference, district, and local church programs welcoming and safe for children, youth, and vulnerable adults.

We at Pittman Park United Methodist Church believe that we must make every reasonable effort to protect the children, youth, and vulnerable adults who are in our care so that nothing damages their life, faith, or well-being. This is part of what it means to “so order our lives after the example of Christ that, surrounded by steadfast love, [each person] may be established in the faith, and confirmed and strengthened in the way that leads to life eternal” (UMC, Baptismal Covenant III).

While Pittman Park United Methodist Church cannot guarantee the safety of every person, we can be responsible for reducing and eliminating circumstances that can lead to harm or injury.  Developing and implementing a Safe Sanctuaries policy is a first-step in protecting our young and most vulnerable.  Our Safe Sanctuaries Policy is a first step toward better protecting our church’s most valuable asset, our children and youth.
