Pittman Park’s turn to serve at Rebecca’s Cafe is now switched to the 4th Wednesday of each month. We will be teaming up with the Kiwanis club to prepare sandwiches, pack lunch sacks, and distribute food to hungry folks in our community. Our next opportunity to serve will be Wednesday, September 27th. We typically distribute more than 200 lunches, and we need volunteers to make this a success. Our greatest need is for people to help make sandwiches and fill the lunch sacks, but we can also use help delivering lunches.
Volunteers needed:
10 am – 12 noon: Come to First Presbyterian Church on Fair Road to help make sandwiches and pack lunch sacks. (4-10 volunteers needed)
12 noon – 12:30 pm: Pick up lunches from FPC and deliver them to pre-arranged addresses. For example, we might have a box of 24 lunches that get delivered to a contact person at an apartment complex – that person then distributes the lunches to other residents of the complex. (2-4 volunteers needed)
12 noon – 1 pm: Stay on site to help hand out lunches to those who walk/drop-in. Most lunches are picked up by 12:15, but we purposefully stay on site until 1 pm. (Nancy Malcom will be there & needs company; 1-2 volunteers needed)
