Symbolism in the Sanctuary: Stained Glass Cross
The focal point of the Pittman Park UMC sanctuary is a cross made of eight individual stained glass squares. Each square depicts a symbol from the Passion of Christ.
Symbolism in the Sanctuary: Kneeling Benches
The 14 kneeling cushions that adorn the sanctuary of Pittman Park UMC are decorated in hand-stitched symbolism. The project was an effort by many congregants in the late 1970s.
