A Year of Renewal, Mission, and Joy
Friends, what a remarkable year this has been! From last fall through this year, God has stirred new life at Pittman Park. Every Sunday, every gathering, every act of service has carried evidence that God remains faithful—and that God’s not finished with us yet!
Our sanctuary and fellowship hall have come alive with new families, returning members, and guests taking next steps in faith. Through creative sermon series, heartfelt worship, and new opportunities for service—ushers, liturgists, acolytes—our worship has become more welcoming and participatory. We’ve celebrated births, baptisms, and the joy of a church family united in praise.
Our children’s and youth ministries are thriving under the leadership of Megan Hopkins and Stephanie Smith. Children and youth are leading, serving, and growing. Families are finding connection and belonging. The seeds we are planting here will bear fruit for generations.
We’ve cared faithfully for the space entrusted to us and Ryan Heins continues to help us think critically and strategically about our facility use and ministry needs. The HVAC renewal project and network and camera upgrades have prepared our facilities for decades of ministry ahead. Financially, giving remains strong and steady, equipping us to continue growing and serving boldly. Our future depends on our shared commitment to God’s mission and one another.
Our mission footprint continues expanded across our community and the world. Weekly ministries like Open Table, Backpack Buddies, Food Pantry, and XYZ embody Christ’s compassion locally, while Bulloch VOAD and Bulloch Strong help us to rebuild lives after storms. Our reach extends globally through the Wesley Foundation, medical missions in the Dominican Republic, and sponsoring children in Uganda through Victory Outreach. These are not side projects—they are the heart of who we are.
This year we’ve built new bridges—with our Chinese neighbors, local schools, nonprofits, and campus ministries. We’ve launched new discipleship pathways that welcome, connect, and equip people for ministry. God is using Pittman Park to amplify grace in Bulloch County.
Looking Ahead: Our 70th Year
Next year marks a milestone—70 years of God’s faithfulness!
We’ll celebrate through a year-long homecoming, a gala event, and the launch of a endowment to secure our mission for generations to come. Together, we will continue to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world—through personal growth, abundant grace, real relationships, and kindhearted generosity.
Friends, I believe Pittman Park is being built for this very moment. The world needs a church that creates belonging, equips disciples, and sends hope out the doors. I am deeply grateful for every leader, servant, prayer warrior, and friend who makes this ministry possible. Whether you’ve been here for decades or just found us last week—you are part of God’s story at Pittman Park.
We enter our 70th year with confidence, joy, and holy expectation that God will continue to surprise us.
God bless,
Jonathan Smith
