This week, we stepped into an incredibly meaningful stretch of our church year. From a joyful celebration around the table on Shrove Tuesday to the quiet honesty of Ash Wednesday, we began Lent together with full hearts and open hands. I’m grateful for our church family, and I’m looking forward to what God will do in us over the coming weeks.
New Lenten Sermon Series: “Do All The Good You Can”
This Sunday, we begin a five-week journey built around John Wesley’s instruction:
“Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.”
Lent is not only about what we give up; it’s also about what we take up — habits of love, practices of mercy, and a deeper walk with Christ. In this series, we’ll use the season of Lent to examine our discipleship and learn how to “Do All The Good We Can” by loving God and loving our neighbor in practical, faithful ways.
Prime Luncheon: Tuesday, February 24
At our Prime Luncheon on Tuesday, February 24, we’ll take a look at the history and significance of Lent, and how embracing this season, with its deep roots, can help us find fresh faith.
So if you’ve been longing for a season that re-centers your life, renews your spirit, and strengthens your purpose, this is your invitation. I’m looking forward to worshiping with you and walking through Lent together, that we might arrive at the joy and promise of Easter strengthened by God’s Spirit and power.
God bless,
Jonathan Smith
