This is a special year in the life of Pittman Park. In 2026, we celebrate 70 years of ministry in this community. For seven decades, God has been at work through the people of this church worshiping, serving, giving, praying, teaching, singing, and sharing the love of Christ with generations of people. That is something worth celebrating.

Anniversaries like this give us an opportunity to look back with gratitude, but they also invite us to look ahead with hope. We thank God for those who came before us, for the faith they lived, and for the foundation they built. We remember the saints of our church who stepped out in faith and went before us to build something new for God’s Kingdom. At the same time, we have an opportunity to strengthen our mission and ministry for the next 70 years, so that future generations will know the same love, grace, and faithfulness we have known here at Pittman Park.

Over the coming months, we will have several opportunities to celebrate together.

This is an important step in helping secure and strengthen the future ministry of our church. I hope you will take time to review the Proposed Resolution and Gift Acceptance Policy, as well as the Legacy Giving FAQ in order to prayerfully consider how God might be leading us in this important moment.

May 1 at 6:00 PM – Pittman Park 70th Gala
This will be a joyful evening of celebration and vision, including a catered meal, live music, testimonies, and an opportunity to make a pledge toward the Pittman Park Endowment. It will be a meaningful night as we celebrate what God has done and invest in what God will continue to do.

May 2 at 2:00 PM – Pittman Park at the Park!
We will gather for baseball and fellowship at J.I. Clements Stadium. This will be a free and fun opportunity for fellowship and community as part of our anniversary celebration.

May 3 at 10:30 AM – 70th Anniversary Worship Service and Dinner on the Ground
This will be a particularly meaningful time as we remember our charter members, honor their legacy, and give thanks for the gift of faith they have passed on to us. After worship, we will continue the celebration with an old-fashioned dinner on the ground.

July 26 at 5:00 PMOld Time Gospel Sing
Join us for a night of worship and celebration as we give thanks for 70 years of ministry through song and fellowship.

I hope you will mark your calendars and plan to be part of these special moments in the life of our church. This is more than a celebration of our past. It is a season of renewal, gratitude, and commitment to the future God is calling us toward.

Thanks be to God for 70 years of ministry at Pittman Park, and thanks be to God that the story is still being written.

God bless,

Jonathan
