When Ukraine was invaded by Russia last Spring, Missions Committee Chair, Mickey Martin, organized a fund drive to support UMCOR relief efforts. The drive was unique because Martin made over 1,000 Ukraine-themed keychains to use as thank-you gifts for donors. Now, seven months after that fund drive, the leftover keychains are getting another chance to help the cause. Martin is sending them to Olga Danilchenko, an Etsy vendor from Kharkiv, Ukraine, who had sold ribbon to Martin years ago. Her shop recently re-opened after she settled in Germany, and Martin re-connected with her. When Martin discovered that Ukrainians are selling craft items in Germany to raise money for the Ukrainian army, she offered to send Danielchenko the keychains to support efforts there. On Tuesday, October 11, Martin sent her last 200 Ukrainian keychains to Germany.
