After moving to Statesboro in the fall, Russ and Jan Persson recently joined Pittman Park. Their daughter, Megan Hopkins, is Pittman Park’s Children’s Director, so you may see them helping out with Park Kids, or you may recognize Jan singing in the choir. We asked this new couple a few questions to help people get to know them:
What is your favorite thing about Pittman Park?
We found the formality of the traditional service refreshing after years in the more casual Evangelical Covenant Church. We enjoy the beauty of the liturgy, the organ and the choir nicely respectful.
Are you a dog person or a cat person?
Both! We have enjoyed our lovely dog Mackie since she adopted us years ago.
What is your superpower?
Helping you plan your Alaska vacation! We raised our family there and have been back to visit friends and family many times over the years.
