I have always loved the grounds of Pittman Park. It is truly a beautiful place to walk, pray, play, and worship. The trees that line our campus have been here longer than most of us. They have shaded families walking into worship, sheltered children at play, and stood quietly through decades of Pittman Park’s life together. They are, in many ways, a living symbol of what this congregation is, rooted, growing, and full of life.
This summer, we have an extraordinary opportunity to invest in our grounds in a way that will bless our congregation and our community for years to come. A generous member of our congregation has made a remarkable pledge: they will match every dollar donated toward landscaping and campus beautification, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000. That means if we raise $25,000 between July 15 and August 31, our total investment in the beauty and curb appeal of Pittman Park becomes $50,000. This will mean new plantings, critical tree work, and upgrades that will make our campus more welcoming to every neighbor, visitor, and family who passes by our doors.
However, this is about so much more than landscaping. When people drive by Pittman Park or walk through our doors for the first time, our campus is part of how we welcome them. Beautiful, well-kept grounds say something about the care and life of a congregation and I want what people see on the outside to reflect the vitality we know is on the inside.
I am asking every member of our congregation to prayerfully consider a one-time gift to this campaign. You can give online at pittmanpark.org/give and select the “Landscape Matching Grant” fund, or by check to the church office. No gift is too small, and every gift is doubled.
This is our moment to put our values on display, not just inside our walls, but in the very ground we stand on. I believe God is doing something beautiful at Pittman Park, and I hope you will join me in making it visible. Every gift, of any size, will be doubled, and every dollar will be a seed planted in the future of this church and this community.
God bless,
Jonathan Smith
