Friends, this month we have been exploring what it really means to live generously. Week by week, we have seen that generosity is not only about money; it is about the posture of our hearts and the way we reflect the character of a generous God.
This Sunday, as we continue our Generous series, we will look closely at how generosity grows when we trust God’s promises and plan intentionally to give. Paul reminds us:
Since you excel in so many ways in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us, I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving.
2 Corinthians 8:7
Because God has given everything for us, we give our time, resources, and lives for others. That is what we mean at Pittman Park when we talk about Kindhearted Generosity, one of our core values.
As we journey toward the conclusion of this series, I invite you to begin praying and planning for Sunday, September 28, the final week of Generous. On that day we will celebrate God’s faithfulness and present our 2026 pledge cards together in worship. These pledges help us shape a ministry budget that supports life-changing mission, vibrant worship, and deep discipleship.
Would you take some time this week to:
- Pray about how God is calling you to give of your finances, your time, and your talents.
- Talk with your family about the joy of giving and the impact it makes on your faith and on the lives of others.
- Fill out your pledge card online or bring it with you to worship on September 28, so we can dedicate these commitments to God as an act of worship.
I am so grateful to serve a church where generosity flows from hearts transformed by grace. Together we are planting seeds that God will use to bless our community and the world.
Let us keep excelling in this gracious act of giving because “Generous Is Who We Are And Giving Is What We Do.”
God bless,
Jonathan Smith
