There’s something special about gathering around a table to share a meal. Growing up, each Sunday after church we would go to my Grandma’s house for lunch. My brother and I loved it when she fried chicken and made steak fingers with mashed potatoes for us. But those meals were about more than food—they were a time for conversation, deep connection, and community. Around the table, my family built memories, shared stories, and grew together. It was exciting to see cousins, aunts, uncles, and even the occasional preacher drop in for Sunday dinner. At my Grandma and Papa’s table, we were all welcomed, all valued, and all loved. Those dinners formed me, shaped me, and helped me grow as a person and as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Those memories around the table are part of what I love about Open Table here at Pittman Park. Each week, we get to share a delicious meal around the table prepared by our Kitchen Volunteers. Open Table is more than just a meal; it’s an opportunity to grow in fellowship with each other and to extend a warm welcome to members, guests, and our community. Whether you’re a long-time member of Pittman Park, a friend, or someone curious about what makes Pittman Park special, Open Table is the perfect place to connect.

The spirit of Open Table reflects the heart of our church. It’s a place where everyone is invited, everyone is welcome, and everyone can experience the joy of fellowship. As we sit down together, we are reminded of the many times Jesus broke bread with others, using those moments to teach, to heal, and to share God’s love.

We invite you to join us for Open Table each Wednesday at 5:30 pm. Come as you are, bring your family, invite a friend, and experience the warmth and welcome of Pittman Park. Your presence makes the table richer, the fellowship deeper, and the experience of God’s love more tangible.

If you would like to support this ministry, we also invite you to consider giving to our Open Table Fund. Your generosity helps us continue to provide a welcoming place for all, a hot meal for those in need, and a space where community and connection can grow. You can give online through our church website or in person at any of our services.

Thank you for being a part of what God is doing at Pittman Park. We look forward to seeing you at the table!

God bless,
Jonathan Smith
