Pittman Park sponsors Langston Chapel Elementary and Middle schools in our community Backpack Buddies program. Through the program, we provide support for children facing food insecurity. Volunteers are needed to help pack food each Wednesday at 5 p.m. and to deliver food to the schools on Thursday mornings. The first meeting of the new school year will be on August 20 at 4 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We will pack bags in the Fellowship Hall lobby following the meeting at 5 p.m. For more information, contact Denise Lynch, program coordinator, at 912-282-5277.
