New Beginnings: Let’s Grow Together in 2025!

Happy New Year, Pittman Park!

As we step into 2025, I’m filled with excitement and hope for the year ahead. I believe that God is calling us to grow deeper in faith, stronger in love, and bolder in our mission to Making Disciples and Transforming the World. So, let’s embrace this fresh start together as we discover new ways to connect, learn, and serve.

This month, I invite you to join us in two incredible opportunities to deepen your understanding of God, faith, and history. Whether you’re looking to refresh your spirit or engage in meaningful discussions, there’s something here for you!

Discover the Mystery of Holy Communion
Have you ever stopped to consider all that Holy Communion offers? Forgiveness, nourishment, healing, transformation, ministry, and even a glimpse of eternal life—it’s so much more than just a ritual–Communion is an opportunity for transformation!

Join us for a four-week journey into the richness of this sacred practice. Using This Holy Mystery: A United Methodist Understanding of Holy Communion by Gayle Carlton Felton, we’ll explore the history, meaning, and mysteries of communion.

📅 When: Sundays in January, 5–7 p.m.
📍 Where: The Parlor

This is your chance to gain a fresh appreciation for the sacrament and discover how it can transform your walk with Christ.

Walking in Freedom: The Gospel in the Civil Rights Movement
What happens when the gospel and the pursuit of justice meet? In this eight-week Bible study, we’ll explore how scripture shaped the leaders and ideals of the Civil Rights Movement.

Through scripture and writings from figures like Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., and others, we’ll reflect on how faith fuels freedom. To bring it all to life, the study will conclude with an opportunity for a special pilgrimage to Montgomery, Alabama, where we’ll visit historic Civil Rights landmarks.

📅 When: Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., starting January 8
📍 Where: The Parlor

This is more than a study—it’s a journey of faith and action. Come and be inspired to live out the gospel in new and meaningful ways!

Mark Your Calendar for Catalyst Sunday
On January 26, we’re hosting Catalyst Sunday during the Sunday School hour. Catalyst Sundays are dedicated to equipping YOU to live out and share your faith boldly. Whether it’s sharing your testimony, serving others, or being the hands and feet of Christ in your community, this is a chance to grow and be empowered.

I hope you’ll make plans to be part of these incredible opportunities as we start our journey together in 2025. God is at work in our church, and I can’t wait to see what God will do through each of us this year. Let’s take this journey together—there’s a place for you here!

God bless,
