Sweet Summertime!

Friends, I’m so excited about our Watermelon Cutting on Wednesday, July 19, at 6 pm! We have invited our community and I hope that you’ve invited your friends to join us for a sweet summer treat!

What’s even more exciting is that our Watermelon Cutting is just a foretaste of the great things that are coming for our church and community! This week’s Weekly Update is packed, but it includes just some of the information about events that kick off in the fall. Here are a few that I’m especially excited about:

Fall Family Kickoff After worship on July 30, parents of our children and youth are invited to learn about our student programming for the fall. We will provide lunch and children are welcome.

Pittman Park Night at Tormenta FC Pittman Park will be going to the Tormenta match on August 5 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets to the game are $5 for adults and students from kindergarten through college are free! Tickets can be purchased at the church office.

Open Table Returns on August 9 at 5:30 p.m. – One of my favorite pastimes at Pittman Park is Open Table. Our free Wednesday night supper is an invitation for our church and community to gather and grow together in Christ.

Wednesday Night Small Groups and Choir Return on August 9 at 6:30 p.m. – Wednesday nights are a great time to learn and grow in your faith. This fall, we will have a short-term parenting study, and Bible study, as well a choir and handbells.

Disciple II Bible Study starts on Sunday, August 13 – This long-term study will take us through Genesis and Exodus and into Luke and Acts. This is a great way to deepen your Biblical knowledge and grow together.

I’m enjoying summer, but I can’t wait for all God is going to do through us this fall!

God bless,
Jonathan Smith
