New Sermon Series: “Not In It To Win It”
As the election season approaches, it’s easy to feel the tension in conversations around us. Whether it’s in the news, social media, or discussions with friends and family, the pressure to choose sides can be overwhelming. But what if this season wasn’t about winning arguments or defending positions? What if it was about something much more meaningful?
Starting this Sunday, Pittman Park UMC invites you to join us for a two-week sermon series titled “Not In It To Win It.” This series is designed to help us focus on how our faith guides us through uncertain and sometimes divisive times. Rather than getting caught up in the whirlwind of politics, this series encourages us to center our hearts and minds on what truly matters: reflecting Christ’s love in all we do.
What to Expect:
Throughout these two weeks, we will be reminded that our primary identity is as followers of Christ, not as political partisans. This series will help us think about how we can approach the world with kindness, grace, and humility, regardless of where we stand on political issues. We’ll be encouraged to shift our perspective and prioritize love over conflict and unity over division.
You’ll hear a message that emphasizes the importance of valuing relationships over arguments. In a world that can feel divided, we are called to be people who listen first, seek understanding, and treat others with compassion—even when we disagree. We’re reminded that being right is less important than being loving.
The series will also provide practical ways to live out our faith during this time. How can we focus on kindness, service, and the teachings of Jesus in our everyday interactions? You’ll leave feeling equipped to make a positive impact in the lives of those around you—not through debates, but through love.
Join Us!
We invite you to come and be part of this important conversation over the next two Sundays. Whether you’re excited, nervous, or unsure about the upcoming election, this series will offer a peaceful space to reflect on how our faith can shape our response to the world. You don’t have to be “in it to win it”—you just have to be in it to love.
We look forward to seeing you at Pittman Park UMC as we explore how to live with grace and love in these uncertain times!
