You can find Sherrye Grotte most Sundays in the Fellowship Sunday School Class or worshipping in the sanctuary. She moved to Statesboro from Hawaii and learned about Pittman Park through her neighbor, who happens to be Pittman Park Matriarch Bennie Herring.

What do you like best about Pittman Park?
My favorite thing about the church is how inclusive and welcoming the people are. Everyone speaks to one another.

Are you a dog person or a cat person?
I am a dog person for sure. Some will remember my service dog, Romeo, who often accompanied me.

What is your superpower?
My superpower is recycling. I live by the Recycle motto: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. I donate shopping bags and newspapers to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. I bring my non-rechargeable batteries here to Pittman Park. The rechargeable ones I take to Lowes. I also found a place to take my cardboard. I am so glad that Pittman Park supports recycling and utilizes GreenRock Recycling services.
