I’m so excited for this year’s Backpack Buddies and Can Do Food Pantry Canned Food Championship, and I hope you are too! This food drive is a simple way for our church to make a major impact on our community and be a part of God’s mission in Statesboro.
Throughout the month of February, we will be gathering Peanut Butter and Jelly to declare a canned food champion for our community.
Last year, we collected over 1,500 cans of tuna and chicken for these ministries that help feed children and families throughout our community. This year, I believe we can do even more to ensure the children at Langston Chapel Elementary and Middle School are fed throughout the year.
If you’d like to be a part of this year’s Canned Food Championship, you can drop off your donation of peanut butter or jelly (in plastic jars) at the church office during the week. On Sundays, you can also drop your donations off in the Sanctuary or Fellowship Hall. We will report the number of jars collected each week and announce this year’s Champion on March 3.
