Marie Wood and Marion Dozier were retired school teachers and good friends. They were beloved members of Pittman Park in its early decades, and their legacy lives on today as the Wood-Dozier fund.

The 14 kneeling cushions that adorn the sanctuary of Pittman Park UMC are decorated in hand-stitched symbolism. The project was an effort by many congregants in the late 1970s.
